Job Description
Ideal Candidates must have the following traits.
Demonstrates strong English communication skills (verbal and written).Demonstrates a high level of ethics and integrity.Experience with Tally software for recording and maintaining local books and records.Experience with Dynamics AX software for recording and maintaining consolidated books and records is preferred, but not required.Proficiency in using Microsoft officeChartered AccountantKnowledge of local Indian statutory reporting requirements and Indian GAAP.Knowledge of US GAAP is preferred, but not required.3 to 5 years of accounting experienceEssential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
1. Assist the Finance Director – Asia-Pacific Region, with financial oversight and maintenance of India financial activities including the development and maintenance of working relationships with General Managers and third-party country-level accountants in India as well as coordination with other members of the Global Finance team.
2. Coordinate the monthly financial closing and reporting processes for India (local and consolidated) to ensure accuracy and timeliness of the monthly financial closing and that transactions are properly recorded into the Tally (local) and Dynamics AX (consolidated) accounting systems.
3. Supervise completion of all country-level statutory and tax reporting. Note that completion to be executed by outside accounting firm.
4. Ensure that India intercompany revenue and pass through costs are recorded in accordance with corporate policy and intercompany accounts are reconciled on a monthly basis.
5. Manage all disbursement activities (checks and electronic transfers) for Company in accordance with Procurement SOP GL-AC-03-S3.
6. Manage the accounts payable function within the accounting software.
7. Support India General Manager(s) in the execution and delivery of budgets, forecasts, and cash funding requests.
8. Maintain a high level of responsiveness and customer service in daily interactions with each respective GM or Country Manager (CM) and the Finance Director – Asia-Pacific Region.
9. Create and maintain a Sarbanes Oxley compliant control environment in India.(internal control enviorment)
10. Participate in the year-end statutory financial statement audit through the preparation of audit work papers and responding to specific auditor information requests and questions. Also, participate in the year-end consolidated financial statement audit through the accumulation of financial information for footnote disclosures for India.
11. Establish and maintain relationships with key third party advisors as necessary such as payroll service providers, auditors and other service providers engaged to support the finance and accounting activities of Company’s Indian operations.
12. Actively participate in the ongoing training and development initiatives of the Global Finance team.
13. Assist in the execution of other special projects and strategic initiatives, which may or may not specifically relate to India responsibilities, as agreed with the Finance Director – Asia-Pacific Region, which may arise from time to time.
